Carpet Care Tips
Over the 15 years we have been cleaning, we have found a few tips that help maintain the beauty and cleanliness of your floors as well as prevent premature wearing of the carpet due to soil and debris that can accumulate on soil fiber.
To maintain the health, appearance and longevity of your carpet just follow these easy steps:
- Vacuum—The most important step in the care of your carpet is vacuuming. Vacuum thoroughly and frequently, particularly in high traffic areas to remove dry soil. Proper vacuuming habits can remove up to 80% of the soil from your carpet.
- Walk-off mats—Use these mats at all entrances to absorb soil, moisture and any other debris that can harm your carpet. Clean or replace these mats regularly so they do not become a source of soil themselves.
- Rearrange furniture—You should change the arrangement of furniture to reduce fiber crushing. This will also alter the traffic patterns through the home which reduces fading and wear.
- Regular Professional Cleaning—Carpet manufacturers recommend you have your carpet cleaned on a regular basis depending on your traffic load. The preferred method of most manufacturers is Hot Water Extraction which is the method used by Absolute Carpet Cleaning. Carpet manufacturers prefer Hot Water Extraction as research has shown it has the best capability of providing deep cleaning of the material.
